Sunday Post #27 – I’m tired

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba, the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. This way, I can tell you a little about my week and sum up what happened on the blog and everything else that I find interesting.

This week (and last week) on the blog

Next week on the blog

  • On my bookshelf #20
  • Review: Ten Thousand Skies above You by Claudia Gray

As you may have guessed, the past two weeks have been extremely busy for me. Last weekend I was at my parents to get my driver’s licence renewed and to get some more immunotherapy shots.

Then this week, I finally started my job on Tuesday. It didn’t quite go as expected. I was told that it wasn’t really clear why I had been hired, because there wasn’t much work at the moment. So, they weren’t sure what to do with me. Just a great way to start, isn’t it? Most people in the department are just polite to me now, though not necessarily nice. Luckily they serve great lunches at work, and not having to cook at home is a pretty big plus. We’ll see what happens next week.

FIY: the books I read about cancer are for my job; my job is in a rehabilitation clinic for cancer patients. Thus, I’m reading up about it a bit.

  1. That’s too bad about the job- that would definitely make someone uncomfortable! Hopefully the situation improves and they make you feel welcome!

Shutter Isle looks interesting, I saw part of the movie but not all of it but it’s supposed to be a good thriller?

    1. Well, today wasn’t as bad anymore, but to say I feel welcome is stretching it.
I actually finished reading it yesterday after I posted my Sunday Post. I really liked the movie and saw the book in a free little library, so I took it. It’s more a psychological thriller than an actual thriller: Two marshals go to Shutter Island to find an escaped patient… and then things get weird. I could tell you more, but that would be spoiling it I think.
I loved it! Even though I already knew the plot twist.

  2. Oh how frustrating to start work and be told that. I can imagine you feel a tad unwelcome or uncomfortable but surely everyone realises it isn’t your fault.

I hope things get busier soon. And take care. x

    1. Haha yes, I read those two books about cancer while ‘working’. Since I work with people with cancer I figured I’d get a bit of information about it; working and reviewing at the same time! Multitasking 🙂
